The difference between Net Login and OCI Login

• Net Login
  Net login doesn't require Oracle Client to connect to Oracle Server.
  So, it becomes very easy and simple to connect to Oracle Server.
  
  We recommend OCL Login if possible.
  
  Some Restrictions on Net login.
  • Connect using TCP/IP protocol only.
  • Oracle 8 objects, arrays, refs, Oracle 9 timestamps and intervals are not supported.
  • Please note that we don't guarantee working Net with all Oracle server and in each network.
    (Window, Linux server are ok)
  • Also certain problems may occur when using firewalls.
  • Net option has some differences in working with national languages
  • It does not support NLS conversion on client side.
    
    
• OCI Login
  OCI Login requires Oracle Client to connect to Oracle Server.
  There are various functions, and no restrictions.
  OCI Login brought Alias on TNSName.ora file
  
  
• When Character looks broken
  
  Restart the program after selecting character set on [Oracle setting] from the [Program option] menu
  Change character set on registry after setting up SQLGate for Oracle's character set as Null.
  Restart program after changing the value of HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\ORACLE\HOME0\NLS_LANG
